Custom domains for App Service deploy?

Successfully using ConfigureCustomDomain for ACA apps.

Can't figure out how to do the same for App Services app though? Have set:

website.HostNames.Add(<domain>);
website.EnabledHostNames(<domain>);

but that doesn't seem to do anything, in fact I believe it throws an exception.
