Codepush Internal Server Error

Hi,

After deploying the code-push-server to an Azure Web App, I’m encountering an Internal Server Error when trying to access the service.

These are the URLs currently configured in my GitHub OAuth App:
• Homepage URL: https://a-c-code-push-devqastage.azurewebsites.net
• Authorization Callback URL: https://a-c-code-push-devqastage.azurewebsites.net/auth/callback/github

Could you please help me resolve this?

I'm using Microsoft as my Microsoft provider and my callback url is - https://codepushserver123-fcc9fqdqgeg7epe9.eastus-01.azurewebsites.net/auth/callback/microsoft

I was able to resolve this issue. In my case, the problem was related to Azure Blob Storage connectivity — it was mistakenly pointing to localhost.

After further debugging, I discovered that the root cause was the EMULATED environment variable. Although I had set it to false in my .env file, it was being interpreted as a string ("false"), not a boolean. This caused the condition to default to emulated mode (localhost).

To fix it, open azure-storage.ts and locate the following block:

  const devConnectionString = "UseDevelopmentStorage=true";

  tableServiceClient = TableServiceClient.fromConnectionString(devConnectionString);
  tableClient = TableClient.fromConnectionString(devConnectionString, AzureStorage.TABLE_NAME);
  blobServiceClient = BlobServiceClient.fromConnectionString(devConnectionString);
}

Fix: Replace the condition with a more robust check to handle boolean values properly:

if (process.env.EMULATED?.toLowerCase() === "true") {
  // ...
}

This ensures the server doesn’t default to emulated storage when it’s not supposed to.
