Steps to reproduce

1. Configure a custom model in the Copilot settings of your GitHub Enterprise. In our case, we were using an OpenAI compatible API key.
2. Configure one or multiple added custom models to be available in some or all organizations.
3. Enable editor preview features in the Enterprise.

Expected behavior

Custom models should be selectable for enterprise users in the model management preferences of the Eclipse plugin.

Actual behavior

Open the model management preferences of the Eclipse GitHub Copilot plugin and see the error message attached below.

Question: why are custom models only available for individual Copilot users? In online resources I can read, they should be available for Enterprise.

Note, this is not related to 0.16 version but I saw it with (almost?) all previous Copilot releases.

You are right, this is relevant for all Copilot releases until now. Btw., it works in VS Code (of course). I don't understand why the error message in the eclipse plugin narrows the custom model access down to individual Copilot users. This should not be the case from my understanding.

Long story short, the feature you see in Eclipse is the 'last version' of BYOK. Since some enterprises concern about misuse of this feature so it is limited to individuals.

And thus as you can see the organization level of BYOK (in preview now). Let me check how is the status of that in current CLS

I see that BYOK was now enabled with the new version. Thanks! I therefore consider this closed now. There's only one feature request I would have, but I will post that as a separate issue
