Feature Request: macOS CMD key support as alternative to CTRL shortcuts

Hi, would it be possible to add an option to remap keyboard shortcuts to use the CMD key on macOS instead of CTRL?

For example:
CMD+C instead of CTRL+C
CMD+V instead of CTRL+V

Ideally a toggle/option rather than a forced change, to keep compatibility for other platforms.

It's currently using Ctrl not because I want to but because that's what Apple's terminal supports. Last year I also didn't have a Mac so I couldn't test it well. I'd be happy to accept any PR that fixes this. I suspect it requires writing a Kitty Keyboard Protocol parser.

I tried a minimal implementation using Kitty Keyboard Protocol and mapping the reported Super modifier to the existing Ctrl shortcuts.Some shortcuts work when the terminal forwards them, but several common macOS Command shortcuts conflict with terminal/app-level shortcuts before edit can receive them. For example:

• Cmd+Q is usually “Quit terminal/app”
• Cmd+W is usually “Close window/tab”
• Cmd+F is often terminal search
• Cmd+C / Cmd+V are often terminal copy/paste

So even with Kitty Keyboard Protocol support, edit can only handle these shortcuts if the terminal is configured to pass them through to the TUI application.

What behavior would you prefer for this issue?

1. Add support for Command/Super shortcuts when the terminal forwards them, and document that terminal-level shortcuts may need to be disabled/remapped.
2. Only support non-conflicting Command shortcuts by default.
3. Keep Ctrl shortcuts as the primary cross-terminal shortcuts, and avoid promising full Cmd shortcut support.
4. Add an option/config setting so users can opt into Cmd/Super shortcut handling if their terminal setup supports it.

My current feeling is that option 1 is the most realistic: support Cmd/Super when available, keep Ctrl working everywhere, and document the limitation.

I concur, option 1 is ideal. In the future we may have a keyboard shortcut mapper but that may take a while.
