Agent and Workflow Tools - Tracing Tool not showing in DevContainer NOR Codespace

TL;DR The fix is use Ubuntu 24.04+ or Debian Trixie+ -- as the glibc version has to be 3.39+

The issue described in #302 is still NOT working.

When launching a CodeSpace or a DevContainer -- the Agent and Workflow Tools: Tracing is not available.

Please provide a working Repo where this Tracing does show in the tools section. As there is something in the extension that is making a heuristic or deterministic decision that triggers visibility and enablement.

1. Clone or launch codespace for Ignite 2025 Lab 512 - https://github.com/cicorias/no-tracding-lab512
2. Open up sidebar tools -- missing Tracing

@cicorias It looks like the problem is caused by the glibc version in your Linux environment. The tracing feature needs a specific sqlite3 native module, which is built using the glibc version (2.39) from ubuntu-latest in our pipeline.

I tested this using Ubuntu 24.04 in Codespaces, and it works fine.

To fix the issue quickly, can you switch your Codespace to use the latest Ubuntu version, which has the glibc version that AITK (0.26.3) needs.

We’ll also update our build process soon to support older glibc versions, so it works on more Linux distributions.

That is the issue -- great find @dooriya -- I updated to the FROM mcr.microsoft.com/devcontainers/python:3.13-trixie which is Debian, and aligns with Ubuntu 24.04.

closing as no action @dooriya -- perhaps something in the docs or notice when / if you build against lower versions of glibc

BUT I night recommend keep with 24.04+ as version support might be better
