We're happy to share that v0.2 is now available. This release brings a research milestone we've been working on for a while, and we're looking forward to hearing what the community thinks.
🔬 What's New
MagenticLite — powerful agentic behavior, smaller models
The headline of this release is MagenticLite, a new agentic architecture designed to deliver strong task performance without requiring frontier-scale models. Alongside it, we're also introducing MagenticBrain and Fara1.5, which together push the boundaries of what small models can do in agentic settings. You can read the full research writeup on the Microsoft Research blog.
Models are on Azure AI Foundry
Right now, the models powering this release are hosted on Azure AI Foundry. Check our model hosting guide to get started.
That said, Magentic-UI is designed to be model-flexible — you can swap in other models to suit your setup. Check out our transparency documentation for details on how to do that and what to expect.
