MarkItDown Desktop — drop a file, it converts and auto-saves to Downloads (open source, cross-platform)

Built a small desktop GUI around markitdown because I wanted the zero-friction version: drag a file (or paste a URL/YouTube link), it converts and saves the .md straight to your Downloads folder — no CLI, no manual export step.

• Drag-and-drop or click-to-browse, conversion starts immediately
• Rendered + raw markdown preview
• Plugins, Azure Document Intelligence / Content Understanding available via an Advanced Settings panel when you need them
• English/Spanish UI, light/dark theme
• Cross-platform (Windows/macOS/Linux), pre-built binaries in Releases — no Python install required
• MIT licensed, not affiliated with Microsoft
