Thanks for making these changes! Minor note - the AI-generated "old compass" image has gibberish numbers around the perimeter if you look closely. I know nothing about the history of compasses and when degree markings were introduced, but the update makes the distinction that "modern" compasses have the 0-360 degree markings (implying that "old"/historical ones don't). Just scrolling through Wikimedia Commons images for "old compass" though https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?search=old+compass&title=Special%3AMediaSearch&type=image, it looks like many that appear "old" do have numerical degree markings: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Compass_made_by_W._Watkins,_Bristol,_England,_1820_-_Wisconsin_Historical_Museum_-_DSC03297.JPG. Either way, having nonsense numbers visible on the old compass might be confusing to students? Better to use a stock image of a real one without numbers, or just don't bother with that distinction and only show a new one? |

@bfinio - Good point on the compass image. Maybe it's better to take a real image under Creative Commons along with the attribution. Thanks. I ran out of tries on the AI Image Generator, so I grabbed that antique looking one. |
…-microbit into compass-doc-update
I've done a few updates to the
compass-headingpage. Please suggest changes or adds. Not able to glean what changes are necessary to the other docs listed from the comments.Closes #6656
