Steps to reproduce

I don't know.
I came back to my PC with windows terminal open, I was no longer able to alt-tab back to my previous window.
I clicked the terminal icon on the task bar, clicked to open a terminal, it was crashed, had to force quit.

Re-opened terminal, it came up with the quake terminal only. No other windows. My old hotkeys are gone, so I can't even open/close it. Re-assign the quake key but, since the quake terminal is the only one that loads, I have no menu bar, can't launch a new window or tabs or anything.

Even more odd, I actually basically never use the quake terminal (mostly I always forget about it and always have a terminal open I can alt-tab to anyway)

I was finally able to launch a new window with the hotkey, but I can't even set my old hotkey for quake terminal (it was win+, it won't accept that anymore, I've had to change it to ctrl-shift-)

That ain't good. If you have access to Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), can you see if you have stray instances of WindowsTerminal.exe running? If so, terminate them all and try to relaunch. If that doesn't help, try holding down Shift while you launch it. If that doesn't work, try launching the non-Preview version (as I note that 1.25 is the preview channel!) If that doesn't work, your machine may well be haunted.

If that doesn't work, your machine may well be haunted.

I didn't see any.. the new key I set for quake isn't even working.. it's being weird, but, other than the quake thing I was able to spawn a new window with hotkey and it's been mostly normal. can't open quake window though and the settings window I got into WITHIN the quake window (which is odd feeling since you can't see the titlebar) was difficult to close too (hotkey)

a user who doesn't know the hotkeys woudla beek fooked. and my machine is probably haunted a bit, it runs windows 10............so........ lol

Yeah I've also been having non-stop crashes or at least spin-locks of the main thread for long enough to think it was (it just happened again, came to make thread, switched back and it wasn't locked again) of the terminal. I even rebooted today!

I did let a few of the crash reports auto-submit, hopefully you guys can get those (and, hopefully they're anonymized but you could potentially grep for my username) otherwise uh, I didn't see an option to debug, don't think I have full-blown VS installed atm (is that even still a thing or are we all vscode now? lol)

Been on -preview for like 4+ years, actually been pretty stable. I'm sure you guys'll get this fixed too :D honestly - I'm a total linux guy who hates Windows, but Windows Terminal is actually one of the better terminals I've used on any platform 👍
