Syntax colorization for imported classes and functions

Can this feature be available? It is already implemented, in part, in VStudio.

It makes code really confusing without it:

Designer is a class which should be green and add_designer a method that, in theory, should be yellow.
Also, designer_name and designer_icon are parameters that should be light blue in the function to differentiate from class fields and properties.

Because our team's development efforts have shifted to support the new language server, we'd encourage you to try it out.

Also try theme that uses sematic colorization (like One Dark Pro theme).

Holly molly that does exactly what I wanted. I don't particularly care for the theme you mentioned given that the natural colors of Pylance are just perfect.

Hey, @karthiknadig, I have a question about Pylance, why is it that in the first case guild is of type Any and in the second case it is of type Guild? Shouldn't it behave in the same way?

guild: 'Guild | None' = ctx.bot.get_guild(1)
if guild is not None:
    guild

guild: 'Guild | None' = ctx.bot.get_guild(1)
if isinstance(guild, Guild):
    guild

The | syntax is only available in Python 3.10. It should be giving you a warning about this syntax without using a 3.10 interpreter or setting the python version in a pyrightconfig.json file.

If | support isn't on, then it converts Guild | None to Unknown (which when type checking is disabled is shown as Any). In the first snippet, guild is not None would feasibly narrow to "Any but not None", which is not a type that exists in the python type system, so it's just more Any. In the latter case, the isinstance explicitly checks that guild is of type Guild, so it can narrow Any to Guild.

Try replacing Guild | None with Optional[Guild] or Union[Guild, None] and you will see both work identically.

I am using Python 3.8.7 and indeed I do get the warning if and only if I don't use quotes, with them it seems to me that the interpreter understands it. Elsewhere I've used 'str | None' and it seems to work fine.
