After update 'python' extension cannot activate because depends on 'Jupyter'

After the most recent update, I keep getting "Cannot activate the 'Python' extension because it depends on the 'Jupyter' extension, which is not loaded. Would you like to reload the window to load the extension?" notification. I've clicked "Yes" and let it reload VS Code several times and it keeps popping up. When I go to the extension list, both Jupyter (non-deprecated one) and Python are enabled. Only thing I can maybe think might be an issue is I can disable python extension for both local and remote (WSL), but Jupyter only has a local option and I don't see a way to install it into remote. Perhaps that is the issue?

Regardless of reasn, it seems to be broken right now after this update.

Hi, Jupyter extension dev here. We're working on publishing a fix (should be up within the next hour). Sorry for the trouble.

More details: this is due to the fact that the May release of the Jupyter extension pinned 1.56.0 for the VS Code engine version. If you upgrade to VS Code 1.56.1 there is currently no compatible Jupyter extension build on the marketplace. Again, we're working on publishing a compatible build ASAP.

I found that clicking "Uninstall" dropdown and choosing "install another version" and then selecting the current version and letting it reinstall made the error message stop happening.

@jolsen71 What is a version installed after your workaround?

I downloaded version 2021.6.832239655 from Marketplace and it does not work, as is marked as compatible with 1.57.0-insider version of VS Code.

I just started using VS Code, installed it today. Seeing the same error message everyone else is.

I found that clicking "Uninstall" dropdown and choosing "install another version" and then selecting the current version and letting it reinstall made the error message stop happening.
