Gets stuck at "Python extension loading" - Fresh installation

• VS Code version: 1.60.1 (user setup)
• Extension version (available under the Extensions sidebar): v2021.9.1230869389
• OS and version: Windows_NT x64 10.0.19043
• Python version (& distribution if applicable, e.g. Anaconda): 3.9.7 over python.org
• Type of virtual environment used (N/A | venv | virtualenv | conda | ...): venv
• Value of the python.languageServer setting: Pylance

Expected behaviour

Starting the Python extension

Actual behaviour

Endless loading of extension

Steps to reproduce:

1. Install Python
2. Install VSCode
3. Add Python extension
4. Try new python file in empty folder

I got same issue on Linux , my environment's infomation as below

VS Code version: 1.60.1
Extension version (available under the Extensions sidebar): v2021.9.1230869389
OS and version: Linux mint 20.2
Python version : 3.8.5 from Anaconda
Type of virtual environment used : venv
Value of the python.languageServer setting: Pylance

This does not help, thx. I know how the search works. Thats the reason for my new issue. Anyone else?

I had the same issue. Just downgraded the extension and it worked.
Then upgraded again and it is normal now.

EDIT:
Never mind. The issue persists, but only when "telemetry.enableTelemetry": false
I have to put it to True and reload VS Code.

But downgrading the extension (and keep that version) also works for me.

We are hoping to do a point release with a fix for this sometime today.
