Cannot view pending changes of an .ipynb Jupyter notebook

• VSCode Version:1.49.0
• OS Version:1903

Steps to Reproduce:

1.Open a .ipynb file & make some change to the code
2.Go to the git tab and open the diff

Expected behavior: I see the diff
Actual behavior: the screen flashes (presumably the diff, but too fast to see for sure), then I get the standard Notebook view (NOT side-by-side before & after notebook views, just the after, same as if I open the file directly)

Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes/No
