sftp extension host terminated unexpectedly

• VS Code Version: 1.53
• OS Version: macOS 11.2(Intel)

Steps to Reproduce:

1. install sftp extension
2. setup a connection
3. use the extension with password
4. whenever I use the extension it produces the same error message: "Extension host terminated unexpectedly"
   I use the proper and correct password, though.

Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: No
However, I use the extension(sftp) frequently with my works. Even it does not produce any error at the version of 1.52.1
