Run and Debug is not working as expected #128594

Description

@HDCharles

Issue Type: Bug

After the update today, Run and Debug is not working as expected

I have a pytorch checkout and I'm just trying to debug test_boolean_tensor for example. Its impossible to enter the prepare_fx step into the prepare_fx function. It even gives bogus error messages that don't show up normally. Earlier this wasn't a problem.

I generally just put

if name == "main":
a = TestQuantizeFxOps()
a.test_boolean_tensor()

(its converting the underscores to bold)

to the bottom of the test file, add a breakpoint in prepare_fx (another file), and then click Run and Debug but as of the recent update, its just not hitting that breakpoint. It WILL hit it if I put the breakpoint in the test file, but then I still can't step into prepare_fx

expected: step into prepare_fx
actual: it steps over prepare_fx

This was working earlier today and I can't get it to work at all now, was worried something was wrong with my checkout but the bug stays even on master and after rebuilding pytorch
