Extensions disable/enable configurable

I have a variety of development environments, such as Rust, C++, Java, node.js, Vue... I want an explicit configuration to enable and disable extensions.
Reinstalling the extension initializes the enabled state.
Manually configuring extensions for each workspace is a nightmare.

I wonder why "extensions" don't have a JSON configuration file like "settings"
