REGEX only correctly works when searching in one file, not in all #134268

I'm using the following regex: LOGGER\.[^\n]+\s+raise to find constructs like this one:
_LOGGER.warning("The UUID %s is not valid suggestion", suggestion.uuid)
raise ResolutionError()
It only finds them, when searching in a file directly. Searching over the entire opened directory doesn't work.
It's not that regex doesn't work at all, but something is handled differently:
The impartial regex LOGGER\.[^\n]+ does get executed, however the highlighting there doesn't seem right. [^\n]+ should match at least one character, but none is highlighted:
