Issue Type: Bug

Create file
Open the file inside VSCode

now that file path is broken and won't be able to be open anymore, ever!
this is an example of what happens if you opened D:
You opened C:\Users\A\B\C\D\E\F\G
You now may not open D\E\F\G, E\F\G ,F\G or G but you can still edit it by viewing C\D\E\F\G or B\C\D\E\F\G or .... or C:\Users\A\B\C\D\E\F\G instead
I have encountered this issue while making a Minecraft datapack, but it probably works with enything else
