Description
Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes
- VS Code Version: 1.67.2
- OS Version: MacOS 11.6.2
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open a fresh VSCode
- type
ctrl+cmd+space - the emoji keyboard appears
- play a bit in VSCode, do some stuff5.
- at some point the shortcut doesn't work anymore
I've read the issue #144010 carefully about the same issue, but it's closed and we can't answer there anymore, therefore I open an issue here again
VS Code doesn't have any code to handle the keybinding ctrl+cmd+space.
No, but MacOS has, available everywhere within MacOS, in any app.
VS Code doesn't have any code to change it to a "globe" on laptops with a touch bar. VS Code also doesn't have any code to change it to fn + E as it is in your screenshot. I acknowledge that you run into this (it is clear from your screenshot), and I'm sorry about it, but there's nothing we can do on our side to improve things. To my knowledge, it is the OS that assigns that keybinding.
But the keybinding still exists
basically it says it's not a VSCode problem, but an OS problem, that the keybinding doesn't exist anymore: it's not.
BUT
it might be an electron problem, because Slack has the same issue.
The only solution for now for Slack or VSCode is to clear the cache and restart to have the shortcut working again.
