Ternimal is automatically closed as soon as it flashes by #161377

The vscode used to behave normally, but today suddenly the ternimal cannot be invoked, either by clicking Terminal - New Terminal or the shortcut keys.

Appears to be evoking Ternimal, but is automatically turned off in a flash

I haven't made any tweaks to vscode's configuration or plugins, and no OS upgrades or anything like that today, this confuses me
