Diff editor does not get opened or revealed

• set up two panes
• open a diff editor in the left pane
• open the keybindings UI in the left pane
• open another file in the right pane
• click on a modified file in the SCM ui
• the diff editor doesn't get opened or revealed, making the click appear to be a no-op
• ( this doesn't repro in stable )
