"IME reconversion in Japanese is a feature of Japanese input methods that allows you to change the conversion of kana characters to kanji characters. For example, if you type the kana character "き" (ki), the IME will typically convert it to the kanji character "木" (ki). However, if you press the reconversion key, the IME will convert it to the kanji character "喜" (ki)."

IME reconversion is useful for CJK users.
