Codespaces crashes upon starting jupyter notebook server

Repro Steps:

• start blank codespace
• install python
• start venv
• install jupyter
• start jupyter notebook with the command jupyter notebook
• 🐛 terminal clears itself, freezes, and pop-up message saying:
