mac + remote ssh + tmux select problem #194616

I recently started to have this problem: I run tmux on a linux server I connect to from my mac. "Mac option forces selection" option used to work properly. But since a month or so, it still highlights as if selecting while i'm dragging the cursor, but deselects when i release the cursor so I can't copy. It works correctly without remote ssh (i.e tmux on mac).
Bisecting reproduces the problem at first step, so it's supposedly not due to any extension.
