Type: Bug
- Use vscode's remote explorer to connect to any remote instance. For me it's my MacBook Air
- Open up terminal (preferably a zsh terminal)
- Make sure node is installed (I'm using v20.17.0)
- Enter interactive mode with
node
- Paste any large amount of text (preferably something with over 4k lines, and as one line)
After following these steps, in my setup I'm unable to use the terminal while remoted in. If I logout of the remote instance and use the terminal for my local setup INSIDE vscode, I'm able to view the terminal and input commands normally. I'm also able to use the terminal inside my remote setup. But while remoted in I just have a glitched terminal screen where I can't input commands. It remains this way even after disabling extensions, closing and reopening vscode (including logging out and logging back in), and resetting my pc. My next thought is to try reinstalling.
My terminal looks like this
