Autocomplete glitch

Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes

• VS Code Version: 1.99
• OS Version: windows 11 education

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Autocomplete an word like retu to return with tab

When I autocomplete something the last character of my code disappears or gets replaced with a weird symbol, see attachment.
Sorry, but I can't copy paste the symbol since it just does nothing, when I turn off the overlay, the red symbol turns into a 45 degree turned square with an question mark in the middle. I don't use any extensions since I tried a clean install.

Thanks for creating this issue! It looks like you may be using an old version of VS Code, the latest stable release is 1.99.3. Please try upgrading to the latest version and checking whether this issue remains.
