Agent sessions: creating new cloud session is lagging

Steps to Reproduce:

1. from the panel chat submit a panel chat for background or cloud
2. notice how it takes some seconds before the chat view changes to show output

=> Compare with local chat where this happens instantly.

Even if there is more work involved, I would prefer if the chat view would immediately change to show progress.

@DonJayamanne no, this is a new background chat that I send text into directly.

If I do "New background agent" then send a request, it seems to show up immediately? This isn't "continue in" right?

It is not the continue flow, no. Maybe its just slow the very first time, reminds me of how we used to wait for MCP starting which Connor fixed to show progress as chat response.

@bpasero I can see how this can be slow for background agents, hence creating a new issue for that #286044
