Repro Steps:
Open Visual Studio Code editor
TAB Settings button and press enter.
Tab till Keyboard shortcut and press enter.
Tab till Search field and search by a keyword.
Observe the issue.
Actual Results:
When search results are displayed, NVDA does not announce any instructions to help users directly navigate to the searched shortcut details table.
Expected Results:
NVDA should announce clear and actionable instructions when the search results are available.
The screen reader should announce: “Use Ctrl + Down Arrow to access the searched shortcut details.”
User Impact:
Users who rely on NVDA for keyboard navigation may find it challenging to locate and access the shortcut details table after a search. Without clear navigation instructions, they are left to figure it out through trial and error, which can lead to increased effort, time, and cognitive load.
