apparently same issue as #299377

Tried to submit using "Help- > Report issue", but it did not work

• OS Version: Ubuntu 24.04 (up to date)

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Start vscode
2. message appears, restarting does not help

Additional infos:

• fresh re-install of VSCode
• no extension that I know of
• I tried to remove all old configuration files/folders (rm -rf ~/.vscode ~/.config/Code)
• vscode must be launched with --trace or it freezes after a few seconds
• attaching the result of code --trace --verbose > vscode.log 2>&1 with one restart from the message "A shared background process..."

leaving it open (code --trace) for a few minutes also gives the message "Extension host terminated unexpectedly 3 times within the last 5 minutes." although there is no extensions
