Type: Feature Request
Copilot constantly gets lost looking for local git repositories because it does not know where the active repository is.
Granted that usually it's the workspace root, but VSCode has support for multiple repositories, and Copilot should too.
Copilot tells me that it has access to these values: Owner, Repository name, Current branch and Default branch.
But it does not have the director that this repository is in.
Please include the active repository directory in Copilot context.
VS Code version: Code 1.117.0 (10c8e55, 2026-04-21T16:12:14-07:00)
OS version: Darwin arm64 25.4.0
Modes:
Remote OS version: Linux arm64 6.8.0-1051-aws
