Multiple vcode server services running after SSH connection.

Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes/No

• VS Code Version: 1.121.0
• OS Version: Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022 Std.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. In Windows 11, Install and configure vcode to SSH to a Windows Server 2022 (VM)
2. Remote Login to Windows Server and run ProcessExplorer.
3. You'll see 4 process trees listing powershell and code[UUID].exe. One process tree running as a service.
4. Why are all these processes needed for a single SSH connection?
5. I do not have any vcode Terminals open. Just a single SSH connection.

If you do a "Close Remote Connect" to end the SSH connection, the remote vcode servers don't shutdown. And then SSH again, the process tree list grows by one. And do "Close Remote Connect", nothing shuts down, SSH again, and another process list is added. Repeat the process and eventually run out of resources.

I'm using OpenSSH V10 on both client and server, and the following options in my Windows 11 .ssh/config file:

Host [name]
User [user]
HostName [IP address]
PreferredAuthentications publickey
IdentityFile ~/.ssh/DI1USWIV0297WNB_ed25519

There is no issue making a SSH connection.

If you logout of vcode SSH remote connection and kill all the (remote) code[UUID].exe server trees listed in Process Explorer where nothing related to vcode 'remote' server is running and attempt to login again, the login will fail. If you close out the vcode failed login, while viewing the 'remote' vcode process trees (in ProcessExplorer), you'll see code[UUID].exe trees jump from 'service' processes to a 'user' processes. And if you login again, the login will succussed.

Very weird stuff going on and a lot of waisted resources being consumed.
