Set VS Code as default programm

i can't set VS Code as a default programm for opening ".txt" files.
Trying thru the control panel and rigth click menu on file.

VS Code version: Code 1.29.1 (bc24f98, 2018-11-15T19:13:36.375Z)
OS version: Windows_NT x64 10.0.17134

Can you show me what you are doing with the right click on the file?

open with -> select another application

always use VS Code for .TXT files

And what happens after you choose VS Code?

The TXT file opens in VS Code, but not assigned as default programm for that filetypes. for any file types even for php or html.

How did you install VS Code? During the Setup you can enable file association with Code, have you tried that?
