Restore workspace including unsaved files ?

There is a workspaceStorage folder inside the /Users folder, inside this folder there are a series of folders inside those folders are three files;

• state.vscdb
• state.vscdb.backup
• workspace.json

I was informed any of these three files can be used to restore a workspace and all files for that workspace, including unsaved files ?
