First public release of bible-data — open, machine-readable Bible texts in the public domain across 23 languages, with a consistent OSIS-based schema.

What's included

  • 33 versions, ~470,000 verses total
  • 3 formats per version: whole-Bible JSON, per-book JSON, indexed SQLite
  • Originals: Westminster Leningrad Codex (Hebrew), Aleppo Codex, Textus Receptus, Vulgate, Clementine Vulgate
  • OSIS book codes for consistent cross-version references
