ENH: Speed calculation for triplegs/positionfixes

during my internship I once used movingpandas to calculate speeds per positionfix and mean speeds for triplegs (for delay classification of measurement on a bus).

In the last meeting we agreed that this could also be useful in the future for trackintel 2.0

at the moment the transport mode prediction does a mean speed calculation for quick classification of transport modes

A nice explanation of the differences between space_mean and time_mean speed can be found on page 1 of this document.

@abcnishant007 I started to work on this issue but I’m not sure what you planned regarding time mean speed and space mean speed. Looking at the document you sent (which is a very nice explanation!), time mean speed is “the average of all vehicles passing a point over a duration of time.” In the context of trackintel, what is a “point”? Is it a location? So we could compute the speed per position fix, then find the location for each position fix via the stay points, and average the speeds for each location. But is that something that is needed in our research?
