Black Scene Remain while trimmed away from segment

I have a video that has several segments. I notice it has some frames that are completely black at the beginning, so I trimmed them from the intro segment (the first segment). Then I export them. If I enable the Smart Cut option, then the result will be what I want- start the video at the place I trimmed, but if I do not enable that, it will still have the same time as the original (so the trimmed section is still there). How to make the exported video not have the trimmed part (the black frames) without enabling Smart Cut. I'm just curious why this happened, and the Smart Cut has been noticed for not working for all files

Hard to say for sure. what's happening in ffmpeg is a bit of a black magic. i can only suggest trying different things from the documentation: https://github.com/mifi/lossless-cut/blob/master/issues.md#cutting-times-are-not-accurate
