paid subscriptions for Patreon

I have a little problem and I don't know how to download paid subscriptions for Patreon. I'm confused, I don't really know how it works
Before, I was using a tool that was really much easier to use https://github.com/PrivateGER/patreon-dl
He's not working anymore, so they recommended this one to me, but I'm a bit lost. I watched videos but on that it's not very explanatory and I managed to get it to work but it says this message to me ([patreon] [warning] Not allowed to view post) it just downloads the free images
If you can add to me to explain it would be nice discord jenna

You need to pass cookies to be able to download from subscriptions you paid for:

gallery-dl --cookies-from-browser firefox https://www.patreon.com/c/CREATOR
# or
gallery-dl --cookies cookies-patreon-com.txt https://www.patreon.com/c/CREATOR

once downloaded cookies with the browser extension I have to put the file where I'm a little lost 🥲

Wherever you want. You have to then use this file's path as argument for --cookies. For example, if you export your cookies to C:\Users\jenna\cookies.txt, you'd have to use

gallery-dl --cookies C:\Users\jenna\cookies.txt https://www.patreon.com/c/CREATOR

You should be able to drag&drop a file from explorer into cmd.exe to get its path there.

@mikf I think this time the issue is somewhere else:
I also tried both approaches (as usual, cookies from firefox and the txt file), nothing worked.
Well turns out these patreon idi**s changed the domain.
When I manually change the cookie file, that part at least works again.
(But then for me the cloudflare bs still doesn't work, I'm so sick and tired of these people ...)

It appears that Patron has changed the domain for session_id cookie, so the validator is failing to find session_id and erroring. Session id is now using www.patreon.com on my end instead of .patreon.com like all the other cookies.
