Hi there, I'm Mikkel Farias

Engineering curiosity, mining mindset, and a little code along the way. ⛏️💻

Mining Engineer & MSc. Student in progress  

  • 📚 College UC graduate in Natural Sciences and Mathematics — Major in Mining Engineering, Minor in Mining Management and Operations.
  • 🎓 Mining Engineering student at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile
  • ⛏️ MSc. Student in Engineering Sciences — Mining Area
  • 🧪 Currently working on lithium, spodumene, and hydrometallurgical processes
  • 🪨 Interested in rock mechanics, mineral processing, and sustainable mining
  • 💻 Building a technology-driven engineering mindset through Python, optimization modeling with Gurobi, LaTeX-based documentation, GitHub workflows, LiDAR scanning, data analysis, and technical projects focused on modeling and solving real engineering problems.

⚗️ Member of Team Chalcopyrite, a research group from the Department of Mining Engineering at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, focused on electrochemical and hydrometallurgical approaches for critical mineral processing.

Our goal is to develop cleaner and more environmentally friendly methodologies for mineral extraction and concentration.
