Follow-up (fork of) the original release. Except the original STE DMA fix (which requires a different search pattern on 12.70+ versions) it addresses two separate issues of HD Driver 12.70+ (tested up to 13.01):
- inefficient copy loop for IDE transfers on 68030 CPU (the fix has increased the transfer rate from 2800 to 3180 KB/s on my stock Falcon)
- not flushing the cache on 040/060 CPUs during SCSI DMA transfers
Initially HD Driver contained many more bugs (see https://atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=44646 for the complete list) which its author refused to address at first but somehow after publishing my post the issues did get addressed in its final form in HD Driver 12.70. Except the two things mentioned above, that is.
So this .TTP patches all HD Driver versions from 12.70 onwards, just drag&drop your HDDRIVER.SYS (or .PRG) on it. I didn't bother changing much of the original texts or even credits. And I like the intro, so I have included it again, too. :)
I'm releasing this patch as open source, still hoping to see those features included in the official HD Driver.
