Fix #128
can potentially also fix #131 by adding ID to start_local.sh -- I think these are safe to expose publicly, but we can hold that off until further discussion. For now, it prints an error message for missing credentials instead of silent failure.
Waiting on AWS credentials before testing. Will tackle migration after that.
