UI Settings

Scaling, colours, automatic saving and shareable profiles.

New on the fork (not yet merged upstream)

Automatic saving. (Fork #41) UI scaling and colour changes used to apply live but were only written to disk if "Save to file" was pressed — closing QLC+ discarded any unsaved tweak. Changes are now saved automatically (debounced to one write per burst of changes), and only the settings that differ from default are written, so a future change to QLC+'s own defaults isn't permanently pinned by an old file.

Profiles. (Fork #51) The now-redundant "Save to file" button is replaced by "Load profile" and "Save profile", for sharing UI setups between machines or users. A profile carries only what differs from the default. The folder browser dialog used by these (and the project Open/Save/Import dialogs) now also refreshes its file list every time it opens, instead of only when its path or filter changes.

How to use it: Actions → UI Settings, adjust the scaling and colours to taste, then Save profile and give it a name — only the settings that differ from default are written, so the file stays small and portable. Load profile browses to a saved file and applies it immediately; everything the profile doesn't mention reverts to default first, so loading one profile on top of another never leaves a mix of both. A file that isn't a valid profile (not JSON, or JSON with no recognised setting) is rejected with an error rather than silently resetting the UI.

  • Fixed closing the UI Settings editor always returning to Fixtures & Functions instead of the view it was opened from. (Fork #34)
