The Jpos116Dummy module will be extended to support all device classes specified in UPOS 1.16.1 (OMG Document Number dtc/22-03-22). However, since no standard Const, Service116 and Control116 interfaces exist, the corresponding implementations might be objects to be changed when a final javapos 1.16 version will be delivered. However, at least when jpos116 will become available via maven, Jpos116Dummy should not be used any longer. It will become deprecated and will be removed later.

JavaPOS-SPF will be prepared to support the new device classes specified in UPOS 1.16: DeviceMonitor, GestureControl, GraphicDisplay, IndividualRecognition, SoundPlayer, SoundRecorder, SpeechSynthesis, VideoCapture and VoiceRecognition.

Support for concurrent asynchronous output as specified for SoundPlayer and GraphicDisplay will be added.

Support for device class GraphicDisplay will be added. Might be of interest to vendors of handheld terminals in gastronomic environments.

Support for device class DeviceMonitor will be added, too. Sample implementation will provide a service that can be used to control free storage on all system drives.

Support for SoundPlayer, SoundRecorder and VideoCapture will be the added. too. A sample using the VLC Media Player will be provided for testing.

Support for further new device classes might be added, too.
