All subdomains support in dns resolver

I'd like to resolve all subdomain for host .lan by the embdded dns.
Setting hostname, domainname and alias on connect to network doesn't allow me to resolve
I tried to set these params with mask *.lan. But dns resolve olny host *.lan
Is there some problem? Is this opportunity missed?
