Showcase: Mimir — local-first persistent memory server (43 MCP tools, AES-256, bi-temporal) #692

Description

@tcconnally

Hi,

Wanted to surface Mimir for the ext-apps ecosystem showcase / registry.

Mimir is a local-first persistent memory server for AI agents, distributed as a static binary with 43 MCP tools:

  • Cross-session entity storage with structured categories, types, and relationships
  • AES-256-GCM encryption at rest
  • Ebbinghaus decay scoring — memories fade over time like human memory, and get reinforced on recall
  • FTS5 + dense vector hybrid recall
  • Bi-temporal entity history (time-travel to past beliefs)
  • Vault export to Obsidian-compatible markdown
  • Knowledge graph traversal via entity links
  • Zero cloud dependencies — single binary, local SQLite

Works with Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, and any MCP-compatible client.

Happy to add whatever documentation format the registry requires. Let me know what's needed.
