Deuterium and Tritium

Did you consider adding Deuterium und Tritium as valid elements on molecular formulas? We see this sometimes and currently this is not supported in ChemFormula.

Hi @MarkusWeisser, sorry for the delayed response. This is not the first time that such a feature has been requested. 😉 Until now, I have always had formal reservations about supporting the hydrogen isotopes deuterium (D) and tritium (T) in ChemFormula. In Issue #14, you can find a more detailed explanation of why I initially decided against adding this feature.

However, your renewed request prompted me to reconsider the entire topic. With the current release, I have implemented a solution that I hope will be a good compromise for everyone. Hydrogen isotopes can now be enabled via a global AllowHydrogenIsotopes flag in the chemformula.config file. The new functionality is documented in the README.md and demonstrated in the usage example example5.py.
