How can I show the full suggestions list when there is an onClick on the input box and nothing is selected?

You are looking for a combobox type feature correct? This is readily doable with the code below.

From the README example ....

const getSuggestions = value => {
  const inputValue = value.trim().toLowerCase();
  const inputLength = inputValue.length;

  return inputLength === 0 ? [] : languages.filter(lang =>
    lang.name.toLowerCase().slice(0, inputLength) === inputValue
  );
};

When inputLength === 0 you can display whatever you'd like to autosuggest

const getSuggestions = value => {
  const inputValue = value.trim().toLowerCase();
  const inputLength = inputValue.length;

  return inputLength === 0 ? languages : languages.filter(lang =>
    lang.name.toLowerCase().slice(0, inputLength) === inputValue
  );
};

And in your shouldRenderSuggestions ...

function shouldRenderSuggestions(value) {
   return value.length >= 0;
}

I was also confused at the codepen example, and I think it's because you're using regex in the getSuggestions that it becomes unclear what's happening. inputLength === 0 ? languages was definitely the easily looked-over problem.
