Research JS framework

"I have a simple HTML shell and a few DOM nodes, now where do I put my JS code?"

It makes sense It's currently unclear which JS framework we should use for the purpose. backbone.js, Shipyard, require.js, ... come to mind. We'll need to strike a balance between unobtrusiveness/simplicity and helpfulness at getting started quickly and knowing "where things go".

Research different options and make a suggestion.

James Burke is working on something similar, and it is much more opinionated about this than you are currently:

The benefit of having opinions is that, once you drink the koolaid as a developer you are much more productive. The downside is that by 'picking' requireJS / AMD James alienates people who don't like that brand of koolaid.

It is more work, but we could consider doing something like todoMVC:

As a start, pick 2-3 frameworks and implement a full, yet simple app in them.

Good thinking, thanks. James has a much more opinionated version of this in his own repo (cough upstream! cough) but your comment is valid. In fact, I think a template that doesn't make any decisions isn't a particularly good template in the first place.

I think a noble goal with this sort of thing is just saving people from doing a bunch of typing at the beginning. I love it when people save me from doing a bunch of boring scaffolding.

I'll upstream it now, it was pretty volatile for a while but I think it's stabilizing. The new version is basically a fork of create-responsive-template, so I think you'll like it!
