July 3, 2015

Team 1: Content

Deryan and Yofie

  • The team has not worked on anything yet. Indonesia is currently in the middle of a long school holiday (and also the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday), so the team is waiting until the new term starts. School will be starting on June 27th 2015. (Belum ngerjain apa-apa karena nungguin anak sekolah masuk lagi, setelah liburan panjang dan libur Lebaran. Masuk sekolah tanggal 27 Juni 2015.) Rara suggested that the team should work on some contents and app anyway, so by the time they are ready to visit the schools, we will already have several usable contents that we can showcase. (Usul dari Rara, mulai aja bikin content dan app supaya ada showcase untuk launching dan kunjungan ke sekolah2)

Team 2: Webmaker Tutorials and School Presentation

No one from the team was present during the meeting. (Tidak ada yang hadir)

Team 3: Partnerships and Celebrity Endorsements

  • Update from Dian Ina through Telegram: After I get back to Indonesia, we (Ina and Belutz) will send a proposal to Telkomsel, so we can have * them as a sponsor for our roadshow to schools in August. (Dari Ina melalui Telegram: setelah balik, kami akan kirim proposal ke telkomsel buat mereka jadi sponsor kunjungan ke sekolah-sekolah bulan agustus)

Team 4: Localization

Fauzan

  • Localization for Webmaker App for Android is 90 percent finished, the poster has been localized as well. The rest that have not been localized are Webmaker landing page and the Webmaker App for Android description for Google Play Store. Both items are still awaiting material from Bobby(?). (Pelokalan untuk Webmaker App for Android sudah 90% selesai, poster sudah dilokalkan, yang belum tinggal mailroom(?) dan halaman Webmaker App for Android di Play Store (?))

Team 5: Social Media and Communication

Deryan

  • Arief has contacted one of the staff through GitHub. They are still waiting for the right time to have a call with the team. (Arief sudah mengontak salah satu staff (?) melalui GitHub, mereka sedang menunggu waktu yang tepat untuk call.)

Team 6: Mozilla Clubs

Fauzan

  • Fauzan is unable to give updates, because he is focused on his works in team 4 (localization).Fauzan tidak bisa kasih update karena fokus ke pelokalan (tim 4).
  • No one from team 6 was present at the meeting beside Fauzan. (Selain Fauzan, tidak ada yang hadir)

Team 7: Launch Event

Rara

  • We're presented with the choice of holding the event in Jakarta with 300 people, or holding several small events in various cities in Indonesia (using the concept of MozKopdar). (Event akan diadakan dengan 300 orang undangan di Jakarta, dan beberapa event kecil di beberapa kota di Indonesia (dengan konsep MozKopdar))
  • William Q suggested that we can file a budget through the Reps budget. Other meeting attendee argued that there are too much bureaucracy in the Reps budget request, and it will take some time to get the funding on the exact time that we need. (William Q mengusulkan bahwa untuk budgeting bisa melalui budget Reps. Ada sanggahan bahwa melalui budget Reps terlalu banyak birokrasi, takutnya terlalu lama.)
  • William Q and Bobby will get a follow up on the budget, but they ask us to be creative. (William Q dan Bobby akan follow up tentang ini (be creative!) :D)
  • The launch event date has not been settled, because we need to wait for the Webmaker App launch in Play Store first. We're still waiting for the exact date from Bobby and William. (Tanggal pelaksanaan belum diketahui, karena disesuaikan dengan tanggal launch Webmaker App di Play Store, menunggu jadwal dari Bobby dan William.)

Materials

  • Working on a better content activity, which will be part of Maker Party
    • @secretrobotron will have that done and on github by next Friday

Content

  • @deryanEM, letter is done, so you should be able to approach schools now
  • Let's work together on workshop ideas if you need; should probably be the content workshop
    • Would be amazing to get user feedback and ideas about what content is wanted for Indonesian target audience
      • 14/15 years old, already engaged with technology, enthusiastic about sharing, etc. (from the playbook)

School Visits

  • Would be nice to find participants who match the profile in the playbook
    • Extra points for more female participants and contributors
  • IT students should be encouraged to volunteer
    • Good experience for them; can help with troubleshooting, questions, etc.

Localization

Partnerships

  • Will send out proposal to a couple institutions to plan for school visits and workshops

Comms and Social Media

  • @KevZawacki left some instructions/templates in https://github.com/mozilla/webmaker-launch/issues/48
    • Great to follow for socmed content throughout campaign
    • Work with Kevin on your ideas if you want to add/remove/change — he's pretty cool
  • @nhie and @ariefbayu, are you planning a meetup/call? What are the details?
  • Do you have a plan for comms and social media we can look at? If not, let's work on one together next week.

Launch Events

  • Scope: get as many people as possible to come and download and appreciate Webmaker
    • Working toward our goal of 10,000 downloads
    • Press coverage where possible
    • Perhaps run the content workshop for fun and press content?
    • Invite Webmaker target audience!
      • 14/15 years old, already engaged with technology
  • Let's try to have launch events in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Bandung, Makassar, Malang, and Surabaya
    • Working on budgeting and logistics atm
    • Would love feedback about budget and logistics
      • We're going to have to be creative, because budget is limited
  • Swag is on the way; Ina is working with PM to coordinate with printer and receive swag to distribute
  • Ina has buttons, shirts, and stickers in her bag :)

Localization

  • Fortunately, Indonesian L10n Team (and some dedicated Mozillians) have localized both webmaker-mailroom and webmaker-android before the article was published.
  • Looking forward to 'webmaker landing page' and 'Google Play Store' material to be localized

Localization

  • Should have something on Transifex very soon.
  • Might have some content that needs translating, not in Transifex (like marketing material).
    • What's the best way to deliver that?

Content

Launching

  • We're working on specific dates.
    • Definitely aware that Ramadan is a bad time for it.
  • We will have access to the Firefox snippet on ________.
    • This should inform the launch date.

Budget

  • There is one! We will get details to you shortly.
  • They will be posted here.

Swag

  • We're making it!
  • Some will be available in Whistler, and if anybody happens to be going back to IDN, they can take some.
  • We'll be making more.
