Show and Tell: EchoEd Student Dashboard

I wanted to share the current student dashboard work in EchoEd, our open-source education platform centered on African
and African-American history.

The student experience now has a clearer learning home at /learn, designed around the question: “What should I do
next?”

What’s included

• A student-first learning dashboard with active courses, available learning, progress, and achievements.
• A governed lesson continuation path, so students return to the right lesson state instead of jumping into unsafe or
  stale lesson links.
• Course cards and course overview pages that show enrolled learning clearly.
• Achievement surfaces for badges and certifications.
  The goal is to make EchoEd feel useful and trustworthy for learners before adding more complexity. Students should be
  able to sign in, understand their next step, continue learning, and see progress without needing teacher/admin
  context.

This is also part of preparing the project for public review from educators, developers, students, homeschool leaders,
HBCU communities, and community learning organizers.

Good places for feedback

I’d especially appreciate feedback on:

• Whether the dashboard makes the next student action obvious.
• Whether the language feels learner-friendly and age-appropriate.
• Whether the course/progress/achievement hierarchy feels clear.
• Accessibility or responsive layout concerns.
• Any confusing moments in the student demo flow.

The demo uses shared demo-only accounts, so please do not enter real student, school, personal, or production data.
