Wiki sweep (EN/HE): measure tool, two-line zoom readout, toasts in front, world relief to zoom 8, GPS glide, no mark on the aircraft, magnetic dial steps in flight, edit column top left in both languages, dimmed buttons say why, lock locks all four, loop tap, strip shrinks to fit, exit question saves a recording, hazard 24 h dimming, tunables
SIGMET / AIRMET lists resize from the corner too (#2519) (EN/HE)
Wiki sweep (HE): same as the English sweep — menu split into Map + Settings, phone tabs and red Comm fail, edit column, centred questions, SIGMET layer and lists, decoder, movable hazard lists, aerodrome charts, NOTAMs in bubble/leg panels, symbols by zoom, LSA sites and route types
Public share: see and be seen by every NavAid pilot; the NavAid pilots layer; tunables (EN+HE)
Heading line: gentle turns and gyro fusion; SIGWX square legend, quarter turns, viewer pinch-zoom

Airspace layer: 50 areas, and the four CTRs it has been drawing
The count and the breakdown both predated the CTRs. Extra layers listed only
ENR 5.1 and the Ben-Gurion TMA sectors -- 46, exactly the areas of those two --
and called the layer three different things; the dataset has carried the four
AD 2.17 CTRs (Haifa, Ben-Gurion, Eilat Ramon north and south) and drawn them in
their own colour for some time. Both languages.
Apply verified GitHub LTR spans across Hebrew guides
Isolate technical inline text left-to-right on Hebrew wiki pages
Hebrew pages read right to left
The planning form's page was written without the <div dir="rtl"> wrapper every
other Hebrew page here carries, so it rendered left to right: bullets on the
wrong side, tables mirrored against the text, punctuation adrift at the ends of
lines.
Four more were missing it too -- the safety notice, the assistant, extra layers
and the phone layout -- all pages added since the convention was set, which is
how a convention nobody checks goes quiet.
The notice's dropdown, and where aviation data may come from
The language control on the safety notice is a dropdown now, listing HE and EN --
two letters rather than the language names, because the reader it exists for is
the one who cannot read the page it is sitting on. The page also says why the
screenshot generators are unaffected by a notice that opens every launch: they
run on the shared fixture, which switches it off.
And a line that is a policy rather than a feature: every aviation feed is fetched
from the body that publishes it, never from another flight-planning service.
Some of those services receive the same NOTAM under agreements that forbid
passing the data on, and reading it from them would make NavAid the third party
those agreements are about. A test keeps it that way.

Document the NOTAM diff: what is new since you last looked
Extra-Layers: document live in-app refresh (hazards, weather dropdown, look-ahead countdown)
NOTAM/SIGMET/AIRMET now re-poll every ~10 min; the shared valid-time dropdown
adds new times and advances its default live; the look-ahead slider counts back
toward live as time passes. EN + HE.
AIRMET wiki: reading the decoded text (Charts button + tap)
Document the AIRMET layer (EN + HE)
Adds a Show AIRMETs section to Extra layers in both languages: IMS Tel Aviv FIR
hazard areas (mountain obscuration, IFR, surface wind) drawn as dotted polygons,
sourced from ims.gov.il via the airmet-data branch, distinct from the NOAA SIGMET
feed. Notes that AD/WS warnings are a separate product and never mislabelled.
Also corrects the toggle lists: SIGMET is a decoded-list button in Charts, not a
map toggle, so the Extra-layers toggle line and Toolbar summary now read
Show NOTAMs / Show AIRMETs, and the Toolbar's stale "Show SIGMET overlay" row is
replaced by the real Show AIRMETs row.
Audit fixes: remove fictional ATS-departure layer, mark CVFR-AIP pending, correct SIGMET
Reviewed the wiki against the shipped code. Three corrections:
- Removed the "ATS departure routes" section (EN + HE). There is no such toggle,
no docs/atsdep-img/, and no atsdep_overlay field in airfields.json -- the
feature does not exist. (נספח ח׳ is a normal LLHZ plate and stays in the plate
list.)
- Marked "CVFR (AIP)" as not-yet-released (EN + HE), in the layer table and its
section. It is not in the layer picker, its tiles are not served, and
scripts/build-cvfr-tiles.py is not on main -- it lives on a development branch.
The method content is kept, ahead of release.
- Corrected the SIGMET section (EN + HE): SIGMET is a decoded-text LIST opened
from a Charts-section button that appears only when a SIGMET is active, not a
"Show SIGMET" map overlay with a corner readout. drawSigmets is not wired.
Note that Israeli AIRMETs are the separate map layer.
Verified: all tune keys, localStorage keys, file paths and keyboard shortcuts the
wiki cites resolve against the current code.
Follow me, offline CVFR, NOTAM sorting, turn predictor — and correct NOTAM source
New Follow me pages (EN + HE): sharing, watching, the restart-surviving session,
persistent-link flag, who-sees-what, tunables, and the two Python tools.
Offline-and-PWA rewritten for the automatic whole-chart CVFR pack (zooms 7–13,
route-corridor first, waits for an unmetered connection) instead of the old
four-chart manual download.
Extra layers: NOTAM list now documents relevance sorting and the Sort dropdown.
GPS track recording: the curved in-turn heading predictor, and a pointer to
Follow me. Features pages gain Follow me. Tuning panel and LocalStorage schema
cover the new follow-me / offline / predictor keys and the device-local
followMeSession and notamModalSize.
Corrects the NOTAM source across Extra Layers (EN + HE) and Toolbar: the feed is
the IAA Mobile AeroInfo site, not autorouter/EAD.
Sidebar gains Follow me in both languages.
Controlled & restricted airspace: the layer, its inspector, and where density altitude moved
Traffic around you, and putting a layer away from the chart itself
docs: instrument charts, their points, and Show on map
The IFR layer has its own frame, draws one sheet at a time, cancels the VFR
plates, ignores the airfield filter on purpose and turns the positions its
sheets print into selectable chart points. And any plate the map can draw now
has a Show-on-map button in its viewer.
docs: ATS is a chart, and Base map chooses what is under it
The enroute sheet moved out of Extra layers into the Layer picker, so its
section moves with it -- into Map Layers, with why it is one raster rather
than tiles and why it had to be reprojected. Extra layers keeps a pointer.
Map Layers also gains the Base map control (Display), which is how two
charts are read together, and the Layer opacity rename beside it.
docs: the two ATS layers
The airfield one (LLHZ's נספח ח', the departure to the ATS routes) is a plate
like the others and behaves like one. The national one (ENR 6.1) is not: it
has a frame of its own, stays out of the plates' mutual exclusion, and is
reprojected rather than placed as printed -- the sheet is drawn on a conformal
cone, which laid down as-is reads about 4 km out at the corners.
Also corrects the layer-group list, which said five plates and no enroute
frame.
docs: name the CVFR plates that are not printed north-up
The overlays carrying rotated corners are LLFK, LLIB, LLMG and LLRS -- LLAR's is
a north-up box. Checked against cvfr_overlay in the dataset rather than carried
over from the older wording.
docs: cover the recent map, charts, print and overlay changes
- Extra layers: CVFR routes now cover all twelve fields that publish a route
plate, two of them printed rotated; document the tick-snapped georeferencing
and scripts/georef-plate.py.
- The map: the in-flight controls wear the chart's own VOR symbol and a compass
that reads out the track.
- Route and legs: the turning point is offered only on a route that comes home.
- Print and export: Fit page to route picks the sheet, Clear map takes the frame
with the route, and the X-Plane FMS format is listed.
- Charts modal: one width across both screens, back button and category chips
stay on screen.
- Offline and PWA: what the loading screen draws and how long it holds.
- Waypoints and notes: the Show hotspots toggle and direction-aware hiding.
wiki: document Terrain vs altitude (EN + HE)
The toggle moved from View/Set to Extra layers and stopped being a row-only
control: it now shades the ground that reaches the planned altitude and marks the
legs and waypoints the plan does not clear.
Written up in Extra layers, with the part that matters most: the shading uses the
VFR clearance (500 ft open, 1000 ft congested), NOT the MSA buffer -- warning on
terrain + 1000 ft marks routes flown every day. Also what it judges (the line you
draw, not the published corridor) and what it cannot see (no obstacle data).
Corrected while there: the grid is 200x85 cells at ~1 km, not ~2 km; the MSA row
formula uses msaBufferFt rather than a hardcoded 1000; and The map's overlay list
no longer claims MSA is toggled from View/Set.
Helicopters: the base chart is switched off on the live site
The deployed config sets layerEnabledHelicopters=false, so the Layer list has no
Helicopters entry — the wiki listed it as an available base map in seven places.
Each now says it exists but is not offered live, and where to turn it back on.
Also separated it from the helicopter ROUTE overlays, which are a different
feature and still available (they ship off, defaultShowHeli=false). EN + HE.
wiki: bring the docs level with the code (tour speed, per-chart NOTAM, keys)
A review of all 72 pages against the current code. Links all resolve; the
auto-generated Changelog is current; the hand-written pages had drifted.
Google Earth: documents the Tour speed selector (0.5x/1x/2x/4x, why it exists at
export time — Earth has no playback control for a gx:Tour — and that Earth Web
cannot play tours at all), plus what a leg with no altitude now flies at: inherited
from the next leg ahead, else the last behind, and only for a wholly blank route
800 ft above the departure field or relativeToGround. Earlier versions wrote an
absolute 0 m, i.e. sea level.
Extra layers: which NOTAMs each chart shows — ultralight-bubble NOTAMs on Low Alt
only, why helicopter NOTAMs are deliberately NOT separated (most HEL mentions are
general closures that merely name it, so filtering would hide FIR-wide NOTAMs from
CVFR), and that Show NOTAMs is remembered per chart with an untouched chart
inheriting the last choice.
Toolbar: the View/Set "Default speed (kt)" row. Keyboard and touch: Ctrl-F reveals
and focuses rather than toggling, the desktop search is a permanent draggable panel
per reading side, and dismissal is the ✕ or a second Escape.
LocalStorage schema: 46 keys the app writes were undocumented — every display
toggle, every opacity, the aircraft/plan/export settings, the data-source and
one-time-hint keys. Added grouped, with the suffix families (.en/.he per language,
.cvfr/.lsa/.heli per chart) explained and a note that
tests/settings-sync-allowlist.spec.js now fails when a new key is neither synced
nor declared device-local. Hebrew page carries the same table.
docs: Extra layers — 'Show plates for' picker (All/Auto/single) + reworded plate labels
Extra Layers: new 'Show plates for' section (All airfields / Auto route
start+end / single field) and reworded plate toggles (Show CVFR entry/exit
routes, circuit patterns, helicopter entry/exit routes, comm-failure joining),
en + he. Changelog 2026-07-16 entry. LocalStorage: navaid.plateAirfield.
docs: align-overlays editor (?align=1), rotated overlays, overlay georef pass
Extra Layers: new 'Aligning overlays' section (?align=1 hidden tool, drag
pan/scale/rotate, Copy coords, override persistence). Changelog: 2026-07-15
entry. LocalStorage schema: navaid.overlayBoundsOverrides. Bilingual (en+he).
